Best Bars in Porto

The life in Porto does not end with sunset 🙂 There are plenty of music, beer and wine bars where the people gather to drink, listen to the music and chat together. As the city is constantly changing and new bars are being opened, the below is just an inspiration. I hope you find your favorite bar, but in the end, it is the company what matters the most 🙂 Also refer to our different articles if you search for specific beer bars, uncommon bars, or beach bars.

  • Capela Incomum – As the name suggests, this bar is not “common” 🙂 It is located in the ancient 16th century chapel, therefore the name “uncommon chapel”. It is a wine bar where you can taste a wide range of Portuguese wines, mainly from Douro and Minho regions as well as try some good tapas. And we can finally and proudly tell to our grandparents that we went to the church 🙂

  • Café Candelabro – This café, wine bar and a bookstore offers three in one solution 🙂 Some books are only for reading, the others also for a purchase. They are mainly about cinema and photography. Another place to be proud to announce to our grandmother when going out (I am going to read some books).

  • Guindalense Football Club – This bar is definitely one of the must visits when in Porto mainly due to its historic football club atmosphere (it was founded in 1976) and, even more important, due to its breathtaking view to the Luís I. Bridge and Douro river. Originally for members only, the space was later fortunately opened to the public.
