Who does not love famous Pastéis de Nata (although originally coming from Lisbon). Portuguese pastries however include much more varieties of sweets than “just” pastéis. Below, I have collected the best pastry shops (or in Portuguese “confeitarias”) in Porto, some of them traditional, the others more modern. Feel free to comment with your suggestions.
- Manteigaria – Manteigaria is a must visit in Porto if you are a sweets lover 🙂 They sell the best pastéis de nata produced right in the shop. While eating, you can watch the whole proces of pastéis de nata preparation.

- Fábrica da Nata – Similarly as Manteigaria, it is one of the few places in Porto dedicated to making pastel de nata.

- Casa Pardal – If you want to try different pastries than famous pastéis de nata, visit Casa Pardal in Boavista. They have great pastries with egg yolk filling.

- Confeitaria do Bolhão – This pastry shop located right in front of famous Bolhão market was first opened in 1896!

- Confeitaria Petúlia – Years of experience and high-quality ingredients make Petúlia one of the city’s best pastry shops.

- Doce Alto (Casa Mãe) – Doce Alto offers tasty confectionery, pastry and bakery products, guaranteeing a reference quality, through its own daily production.

- Miss Pavlova – As the name suggests, in Miss Pavlova you can buy the famous Pavlova cake, however, prepared a bit differently than the original version from Australia. They also sell great macarons and other delicacies.
