One of the most typical products to buy or taste in Porto is definitely Port wine. For Port wine tasting, tourists normally go to one of the wine cellars located on the other side of the Luís I Bridge – Vila Nova de Gaia. - Prova – As its name suggests, “prova” is a Portuguese word for “tasting”. In this wine bar you can taste not only Port wine but also other varieties.

- Sala de Prova – Time Out Market – This brand new place is located in the newly opened Time Out Market in Porto, on the top floor of a tower designed by famous architect from Porto, Eduardo Souto de Moura. You can try here some Port and Douro wine, but also tasty accompanying menu designed by chef Luís Américo.

- Quinta da Aveleda – Actually the best and most authentic places to taste Port wine are so called “quintas” meaning in Portuguese “farms” with their own local production. Normally, the best “quintas” to taste Port wine are located in Douro Valley being approximately 1.5 – 2 hours distant from Porto. However, that is not the case of Quinta da Aveleda located in Penafiel what is only around 30 minutes driving distance from the center of Porto. Not only can you taste great Port wine samples, you can enjoy the beauty of this “farm”. Also some events such as weddings or company events are held here.

- Quinta de Villar d’Allen – Quinta de Villar d’Allen is a living museum – it was a summer residence acquired in 1839 by John Allen and continues until today as a legacy of Allen’s family in Porto. - de Lima’s Wine Bar – This wine bar is a must-visit when discovering Porto’s cuisine and local products. - Garrafeira Soares – Loja 20 – Another uncommon place to taste Port wine is a wine store Garrafeira Soares dedicated to the retail and wholesale trade of beverages, standing out as the market leader in the region where it operates. You can order the products online, or visit a store located in the center of Porto where you can also taste Port wine.

- Vinofino – Vinofine is another excellent place for Port wine tasting for affordable prices.

- Bacchus vini – This wine bar offers you some good tapas as well as many wine varieties. As a cherry on the top, you can enjoy a spectacular view on Luís I Bridge.
