8 Most Beautiful Parks in Porto

There are, mainly thanks to its northern location, many green areas and parks in Porto. So all nature lowers, dog and baby walkers, runners, book readers, or just simple chill people and life-enjoyers will find their paradise. Below, I have gathered the most beautiful parks, but there are definitely much more green places and gardens to explore.

  • Jardins do Palácio de Cristal – This is a definite must-visit while in Porto – amazing sunset, breathtaking view on the city, peacocks and wild chicken and much more..

  • Parque da Cidade – Located right next to the Matosinhos beach, Parque da Cidade offers a huge green area with amazing fauna and flora to explore. It is also the largest urban park in the country and the only one in Europe with a seafront.

  • Passeio das Virtudes – Virtudes gardens are located right in the city center and they offer a beautiful view on the Douro river especially magical at sunset hour. It is a place where young (by the spirit 🙂 ) people gather for a drink and chat.

  • Jardim da Cordoaria – This green place is also located in the city center and offers a chilled atmosphere. The historic tram also stops here.

  • Parque de Serralves – Visit this green area with many artsy sculptures, treetop walk and a museum of contemporary art. The only drawback is the entrance fee as it is not for free as the other places described above.

  • Parque de São Roque – This lovely park is located close to the famous Dragon Stadium of FC Porto and is definitely worth the visit. I enjoyed especially a funny maze built of hedges 🙂

  • Quinta do Covelo – This park offers a huge playground for children – they will love it!
