Recently, I had the chance to do something truly unique and I would like to share my experience with you. I created my own jewellery at Jewellery Experience, located in lovely shopping mall CCBombarda. It wasn’t just about leaving with a ring; it was about learning, creating, and enjoying every single step of the process.
More Than Just Buying Jewellery
Of course, you can simply walk into their atelier and purchase a beautiful, ready-made designer piece. But what makes this place so special is the chance to craft your own jewellery.
Yes, it’s more of an investment than buying something off the shelf – but it’s worth every cent. You don’t just pay for a piece of silver or gold; you pay for the experience of shaping it yourself, for the guidance of skilled artisans, and for the story you’ll carry with you afterwards.
The Creative Journey
With the patient support of Diogo and Luma, I spent around three hours making not one, but two silver bird rings. The whole process was both fascinating and empowering:
- Choosing the design.
- Melting silver until it turned liquid.
- Pouring it into a mold.
- Shaping it into a long tube with a rolling machine, reheating it as needed.
- Cutting, joining, and forming the ring.
- Adding the delicate bird detail.
- Finishing, refining, and polishing until it gleamed.
Every step taught me something new about craftsmanship and most importantly, it taught me to be patient. I was amazed at how much I could learn in just a few hours.
What Made It Special
- Hands-on learning: I loved discovering how jewellery is actually made, from raw metal to polished ring.
- Supportive teachers: Diogo and Luma explained everything clearly and patiently – and they guide in both Portuguese and English, so anyone can join.
- Group fun: You can go alone, as a couple, or even in a group. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to do this with friends or family.
- Memorable finish: At the end, we took a photo of myself and the final product, which was added to their wall of creations – a lovely final touch.
